Those of us who are old enough to remember it happening no doubt have vivid memories of Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001. Four commercial airliners were hijacked by terrorists — two targeted New York City, crashing into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center, one crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, and the final one, Flight 93, was taken down by the passengers, crashing into a field in rural Pennsylvania. More than 3,000 people were killed in the attack and its aftermath.
As tough as the footage is to watch, it’s a powerful reminder of where we were, where we are, and where we need to be as a country. Never forget.
