Springfield Armory just released its newest version of the Hellcat Pro OSP (optical sight pistol) micro-compact handgun — designed for everyday concealed carry, this new offering comes already topped with a Shield SMSc 4 MOA red dot that fits the slide cuts perfectly and ensures speedy target acquisition.
Combining micro-compact concealability for everyday carry with the shootability and round capacity of a midsize pistol, the striker-fired Hellcat Pro was introduced to the public in March 2022. Shooters can now purchase the Hellcat Pro as a ready-to-shoot package, complete with a top-notch red dot optic.
Although the Hellcat Pro features an ample 15+1 capacity, it has a smaller footprint than any other pistol in its class. Despite the extra capacity and extended magazine, the Pro maintains the original Hellcat’s slim profile and ergonomic design.
“The Hellcat Pro OSP With Shield SMSc delivers an EDC-ready pistol that provides both impressive performance as well as capacity on par with a full-size handgun, and all in a very compact package,” Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory’s vice president of marketing, said in a release. “This is a pistol that shoots like a much larger handgun, while still being extremely easy to conceal, yet offering red dot optics capability with the included Shield SMSc.”
Although this version comes complete with a solid red-dot sight, the Hellcat Pro’s milled slide accepts the most popular micro red dots on the market today. Designed for the lowest mounting possible, the Pro easily sports a red dot without sacrificing concealability.

The included Shield SMSc red dot tips weighs in at just over half an ounce, including the CR2032 battery. With automatic brightness adjustment, shooters can expect years of reliability before they’ll need to swap out the included battery for a fresh one.
The optic also co-witnesses with the Hellcat Pro’s U-Dot iron sights. These high-visibility sights feature a tritium/luminescent front sight post and a Tactical Rack rear sight for optimal sight visibility in nearly any lighting condition.
If you want to further trick out your EDC weapon, the Hellcat Pro also features a handy dust cover Picatinny rail on the front of the trigger guard for a rail light or laser.
Springfield Armory has released several exciting new firearms in 2022, including the exciting double-stack 2011-style 1911 Prodigy in 9mm.
