This summer, BioLite, a true trailblazer in off-grid energy solutions, announced it was dropping two new high-capacity lithium-ion power stations — the BaseCharge 600 and BaseCharge 1500 — as well as the 100-watt SolarPanel 100. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys remote adventure but prefers to bring a few creature comforts, this news should make you one happy camper.
Both of BioLite’s rechargeable power stations provide home-grade power in off-grid environments. Unlike traditional gas-powered generators, BioLite BaseCharge systems are ultra-quiet and completely fume-free yet offer enough energy to run everything from refrigerators to handheld power tools.

In addition to suburban-level power, campers can plug into the power station’s collection of DC, USB-A, USB-C, and USB-C PD ports, making it the perfect option for charging energy-hungry personal electronics. BaseCharge units also offer a wireless charging deck for campers keen on cutting the cord.
Both units feature a 12-checkpoint safety system that continuously monitors the unit’s internal circuitry, so users can plug in their personal electronics with peace of mind.
“When setting out to develop the BaseCharge, we knew that safety and reliability had to be at the forefront,” said BioLite CEO and Co-founder Jonathan Cedar in a release.
“Over the past decade, we’ve been providing safe, reliable, large-scale power to millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa, where solar power and battery management is critical to daily life,” he added. “We were really able to cut our teeth in delivering energy solutions that are safe, durable, and extremely efficient. We’re thrilled to be applying those learnings in the outdoor market today with this new lineup.”

Along with the new BaseCharge power stations, BioLite is releasing a convenient, foldable solar panel. When you pair a power station with the BioLite SolarPanel 100, you get a full solar generator system.
You can daisy-chain up to four SolarPanel 100s to generate up to 400 watts of power, which will fully charge the BaseCharge 1500 in as little as four hours.
BioLite has long been an off-grid energy innovator. The company’s first product was a smokeless camp stove that harnessed the thermal energy created while cooking your meal so you could charge your smartphone.
BioLite’s new BaseCharge portable power stations and SolarPanel 100 are now available for order on BioLiteEnergy.com. BaseCharge units will ship by Sept. 30, and the SolarPanel 100 will ship this November, which is probably too late for archery season but should have you set for late-season rifle base camp.
